Summary

In a study recently published in Cell Reports, the lab of Johann H. Bollmann analyzed a serial block-face electron microscopy stack of the spinal cord to study pattern of muscle contractions in larval zebrafish.

Subsequently, all connections from two types of interneurons onto all motoneurons in a spinal cord hemisegment were reconstructed using ariadne.ai, KNOSSOS and PyKNOSSOS. The results lead to a new model of motoneuron recruitment.
